Have a restful break!

Office of the Principal
Dear Sweetwater Families,

As we prepare for our fall break, I would like to take the opportunity to remind you the staff at Sweetwater High School is committed to supporting each student and their families as best possible. Distance learning continues to be a challenge for all, but we are very appreciative of the support we continue to receive from our families as we all work together to ensure our students’ needs are met.

I have a few reminders regarding the remainder of the semester. Our fall break will take place October 5 – 9, 2020. Teachers will not be holding classes, but students may use this time to complete past assignments if teachers have given them the opportunity to submit them when they return. We also want students to take some time to relax and enjoy being around their family. Again, we recognize our students and staff have been working extremely hard and we want everyone to enjoy the break. Classes will resume online on Monday, October 12 and we will continue with distance learning through the end of the semester. Staff will also reply to any emails that are sent during the break upon their return the week of October 12. If your student still needs a laptop checked out to them, a hotspot for internet connection, or their textbooks, please visit this page and you will find information on how to retrieve these items when we return after the fall break.

Although it has been determined the soonest we may be able to return to campus is January 2021 depending on the COVID-19 health information the county provides, our custodians and other support staff are currently working on ensuring our campus is safe and clean. We are putting safety and health-related protocols in place that will continue to make SUHi a safe place for all to learn.

Communication is key in any relationship and we want to make sure we continue to keep one another informed throughout the year. Please reach out to administrators, teachers, and counselors when you have a question or any concern. We encourage our families and specifically our students to ask for help and we will be there to assist. Please be safe and I hope everyone remains healthy.
