Device Distribution 2020-2021

Dear Sweetwater Union High School District Parents/Guardians,

District devices will be issued to 9th Grade Sweetwater High School students on July 29 at Chula Vista Middle School.

PICK-UP PROCESS AT LOCATION

Requirements to receive a device:

  1. For everyone’s safety, the Distribution Process will be Drive-Thru only.
  2. By picking up a student device during the distribution date (July 29), you are accepting the 2020-21 Mobile Device Agreement. The Mobile Device Agreement can be reviewed HERE.
  3. Bring the student ID card and write your child’s name and ID number in large print on a sheet of paper that can be easily read by staff members from a distance of at least 6 feet. Place this document on the dash of your car or be prepared to show the document to staff. If you do not have the student ID card, please print out the “Student ID# Barcode” document in the link provided in the body of the e-mail that you received.
  4. Please read the simple instructions on how to configure the student device at home, located here:
  1. For safety considerations, we recommend that only one person pick up the device.
  2. The device distribution will take place at selected locations (see maps attached) and it will be drive thru only.
  3. When you arrive at the location, please ensure you adhere to all social distancing guidelines by wearing a mask that covers your nose and mouth. Staff will be adhering to the guidelines on social distancing and following protocols to protect everyone. Please remain in your vehicle at all times and follow directions for the designated car drive path. A staff member will come to your vehicle to verify your information.
  4. If you have a mask or a “do-it-yourself” face covering (scarf, bandana), please wear it to the pick-up site. The County of San Diego requires a mask when you are outside of your home.
  5. Please see the date and time that corresponds to your student’s school and last name on pages below. Make sure to be at the assigned location within the range of time provided to avoid any delay or traffic congestion.
  6. All devices have been sanitized.

Note:

If you do not have transportation for the Drive-Thru only to pick up your student’s laptop, please send an email to studenttechsupport@sweetwatershools.org providing the following information:

  • School where your student is attending
  • Student first and last name
  • Student ID#

You will be notified with an appointment date, time and location to pick up your student device.


10th – 12th Grade Student Device Distribution

Students who are newly enrolled, or who do not have a laptop should have received an email invitation with a specific time, date, and location for device pick up. If you are a 10th – 12th-grade student who does not have a laptop and has yet to receive an invitation to pick up a laptop, please contact our Information Technology Department at 619-585-7995 (option #5) or email them at studenttechsupport@sweetwaterschools.org. When sending an email, please provide the student’s first and last name, student ID number, school site information. Information Technology hours are from 7:30 am – 4:00 pm. 2020 Transcripts

Dear Students, Parents, and Guardians,
We are happy to announce that you are now able to view and print your own grades/transcript via your Infinite Campus Portal accounts. Therefore, report cards will not be mailed home. 2020 seniors will have access to view/print unofficial transcripts until July 24th. Attached please find the steps on how to access your student’s grades/transcripts. Please keep in mind that students and families needing OFFICIAL TRANSCRIPTS can still reach out to school sites to request. Please visit your school’s website to obtain specific information on how to request official transcripts.

Wednesday, July 1, 2020 10am-2pm

 

(PLEASE DO NOT COME IF YOU OR ANYONE IN YOUR FAMILY IS SICK OR SHOWING ANY SYMPTOMS)

When you arrive at the location, please ensure you adhere to all social distancing guidelines and have your nose and mouth covered with a mask or piece of cloth. Staff will be adhering to the guidelines on social distancing and following protocols to protect everyone. We will be offering both drive up and walk up return process.

**Face Coverings: If you have a mask or a “do-it-yourself” face covering (scarf, bandana, or other), please wear it to the pick-up site. The City of National City requires this for all encounters outside of your home.

Drive Up Directions Walk-Up Directions
Please remain in your vehicle at all times and follow directions for the designated path. We will have an entry point and an exit point labeled. Form a line in the designated area and maintain the 6-foot social distancing protocol. 6 ft markers will be placed on the ground to help you maintain your social distancing. Please do not bring anyone other than those absolutely necessary. Please wait in designated area until called forward then exit quickly. No

congregating in groups allowed.

 

**Please check the list for any senior debts such as textbooks, AP Exam payments, laptop damages, or athletic debts. All debts must be cleared before receiving your diploma.

**To clear textbook debts, you can bring textbooks to return at Diploma Distribution on July 1. You can also bring a used copy in good condition to return as a replacement.

 

**You can bring payment to Diploma Distribution on July 1 to be cleared. If paying by mail, debt payments must be mailed before June 25 to:

**July 1 will be the final opportunity to pickup any graduation items as well, such as cap and gown, sashes, and senior lawn signs. After July 1, all items, including diplomas, will be available after school resumes.

Dear Parents and Educators,

With the coronavirus outbreak and Summer, Sweetwater High School wants to help students find new ways to learn while away from the classroom.

We have an exciting reading service available through Sora, the student reading app, which provides free 24/7 access to eBooks and audiobooks. What better way to engage your student’s mind than through reading?

Starting April 15 – July 31, 2020, the Sora Sweet Reads program will offer a collection of Juvenile and Young Adult titles that will be prominently displayed in Sora for quick and easy unlimited access. You can explore the title offerings and learn more about the program here: https://resources.overdrive.com/sora-sweet-reads/. Please note that there are 30 unlimited titles available through the end of July, but we have additional titles on this platform that are available 365 days a year.
