The Sweetwater High School Mathematics Department believes all students can be successful learners given adequate support in an environment which:

• Provides students opportunities to practice and reflect on their learning.
• Encourages students to think critically and apply their knowledge.
• Prepares students to pursue careers where a working knowledge of mathematics is required.

Mathematics proficiency is essential to high school graduation and higher education goals. The Math department is working hard to implement change and will continue to expect growth in student achievement. Our commitment to student success will include targeted support, before school, after school and/or on Saturdays, as well as department leadership to ensure more students fulfill their educational requirements and look forward to success after high school.
