It was a long week here at SUHi with Homecoming, but all the candidates for Big Man On Campus and Homecoming Queen weren’t going to let that get in the way. Starting off the week strong with the traditional indoor assembly, each candidate came up with a plan to amaze everyone in the stands, whether that be to make the crowd holler in laughter or cheer from pure astonishment.

All the credit can’t just go to the candidates however; many of these BMOC and Homecoming Queen candidates enlisted the help of those they would do anything with. Their comrades have come to their aid in this mission to win over the crowd. From the women army pizzazz of Gladys Barajas to the loud and supportive friends of Rogdale Sinagub, all of these individuals worked hard to make a great performance for their friends as they walked down the red carpet. Many of them even took time out of their day to practice these routines long and hard; it definitely wasn’t easy for Victoria Garcia’s friends to remember a whole scene from White Chicks in one take, and it was probably even more difficult for her guys friends to do it in dressed up as girls. Every single candidate has had people behind them supporting them every step of the way, and this was their chance to show it to everyone around them.

Yes, the candidates this year were amazing, but let’s take some time to give a shout out to the Homecoming candidates’ friends; their willingness to get out in front of the school in the name of “FRIENDSHIP” is nothing less than amazing.
