Read Across America

Students at SUHI participated in Read Across America, an annual event started 19 years ago by the National Education Association (NEA) to promote the joy of reading among all students. While reading is celebrated all year round, the main event takes place on Theodor Seuss Geisel’s (you may know him as Dr. Seuss) birthday–March 2nd.

This year, students were invited by the Library staff to enter to win prizes by reading books and submitting plot synopses of each book they had read. Many lucky students won wonderful reads like the coveted Every Day by David Levithan, in which the protagonist wakes up in a new body each day. One student even won an iPad, which will undoubtedly be predominantly used as an e-reader.

An iPad can hold thousands of books!
