Engineering Conference for Students

The SHPE SDSU board and High School Conference Committee are striving to make this event as educational and as interesting as possible. To do this, we are working with companies such as Qualcomm, Collins Aerospace and General Atomics so that we may have professional engineers speak upon their stories as well as answer questions for the high school students. The university student panel will also be available to assist with questions students may have about classes, financial aid, or any other topics regarding college.

Although this event targets high school students, we welcome any other grades and teachers who will like to come and sit in. We believe that this could be an amazing experience for young students as interacting with professional engineers and university students could help them learn more about their future university major and career. With that goal I hope you can reach out to students and Staff at SUHi who may be interested.
The conference will take place on April 9th at 2:00pm
Zoom ID: 884 989 27257

You are invited to attend our Coffee with the Principal with Dr. Gavin this Friday at 8:30am via Zoom. Every year, we reserve the month of April for our Librarian to give any updates about the library and provide a 15 min presentation about Digital Citizenship to parents. Here is our tentative agenda for CWTP.

STEM and the National City Public Library

On Thursday, March 25, at 3:00 p.m., the National City Public Library will be hosting a Virtual Craftronics Program provided through the generosity of UCSD Sally Ride Science. This approximate one-hour program will include materials. These materials will be available for pick up at the library before the event. This program can accommodate up to 20 students and is suited for children grades 1-12.  Please tell your children to sign up on the library web site on the children’s page at https://www.nationalcityca.gov/government/library/children.

A second program opportunity that we would like to share is that the National City Public Library, one of the partners in the NC 16 Weeks of STEAM, will be giving an LED project kit to the students who sign up for the NC 16 Weeks of STEAM through the library website at https://www.nationalcityca.gov/Home/Components/Calendar/Event/12372/907. If it is more convenient, the teachers can follow the link to sign up their entire class as a group. The families can individually come to the library to pick up this free project kit or the teacher could come for all of them at one time. The library and other partners are awarding prizes for performing activities for each of the four modules. For each module completed, a book will be awarded
